2-Minute Neuroscience: Alien Hand Syndrome
Alien hand syndrome is a rare disorder that involves a patient’s hand (or leg) acting independent of their desires. The patient’s hand may interact with objects the patient has no desire to interact with, or even interfere with tasks performed with the other hand. In this video, I discuss the general symptoms of alien hand syndrome as well as some hypotheses about what goes wrong in the brain to cause the syndrome to occur.
