Gut-brain axis is a term used to describe bidirectional signaling between the brain, a large portion of our gastrointestinal tract referred to as the gut, and the microorganisms that live in our gut, also known as our gut microbiota. In this video, I discuss the gut-brain axis and some of the mechanisms by which gut microbiota might be able to influence the function of the nervous system.
