Rubrospinal tract - definition
a tract that originates in the red nucleus and descends into the spinal cord, the rubrospinal tract is involved in motor control but has a diminished role in humans due in part to the development of the corticospinal tract. The rubrospinal tract is, however, thought to play a role in hand movements in humans, and may be more involved in movement in general when there is damage to the corticospinal tract.
