Hydrocephalus - definition

disorder characterized by excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles in the brain, which is often (but not necessarily) due to an obstruction in the ventricular system. This leads to expansion of the ventricles, which can put pressure on other parts of the brain and may require surgical intervention to drain cerebrospinal fluid from the ventricles.
