Anterior white commissure - definition

a collection of nerve fibers that cross over from one side of the spinal cord to the other in front of the gray commissure. The anterior white commissure contains neurons from the spinothalamic and the anterior corticospinal tracts, and thus neurons carrying important signals about pain, temperature, and movement pass through this region.
