Rhombencephalon - definition

one of the primary vesicles in neural development, the rhombencephalon eventually subdivides into the metencephalon and myelencephalon. The rhombencephalon is also known as the hindbrain, and after early neural development it will consist of the medulla, pons, and cerebellum.
