Electroencephalogram (EEG) - definition

a measurement of electrical activity in the brain, usually achieved through the placement of electrodes on the scalp. One of the many uses of EEG is in the diagnosis of epilepsy, which is a disorder that involves aberrant electrical activity in the brain.
